Evans Alignment Therapy – A gentle method of adjusting the joints of the body, painlessly.

Evans Alignment Therapy

Evans alignment therapy, is a very gentle way of aligning joints to relieve pain and muscle tension.

Re-alignment is needed when the bones do not return to their optimum position, which can cause pain and muscle tightness. This can happen due to a variety of reasons, such as: repeating a movement crookedly, lifting weight that is too heavy or bones moving too far out of place after an accident, etc.

Evans alignment therapy differs in its method from many therapies, as the client is active in performing the movement for each adjustment. This also helps the body accept the changes more readily causing little or no resistance because it receives the impression that the body performed the adjustment itself. No force is applied to the joint or muscle. It is so gentle that it can be used effectively on the very young to the elderly and frail.

I trained in Evans Alignment Therapy with therapist and teacher Ann Evans, who developed the technique over a period of twenty-five years. Ann trained in McTimoney-Corley Spinal Therapy and also Massage and Sports Injury, before identifying the need for an effective, painless and non-invasive method of relieving pain in the joints and muscles.

The most common conditions Evans Alignment Therapy may help with are: backache, shoulder problems, neck pain and knee pain. However Evans Alignment also has a detailed approach to areas of the body less attended to, such as, the hands, feet and facial bones.

Bowen Therapy is holistic, treating the whole patient, not just symptoms and has been reported to be effective for conditions such as low back pain, sciatica, headache, migraine, asthma, shoulder pain, neck problems, tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, RSI and other musculo-skeletal conditions. Bowen Therapy can often have a relaxing effect which may help people suffering from tension or stress syndromes.
